As part of Hoag Hospital’s long range plan to expand the availability of their high quality health care services, the hospital acquired an existing office park located just north of the main campus. Renovating all the buildings, adding a new parking structure, and replacing the existing landscape were part of the strategy to upgrade the image of the facility. Hoag’s public presentation has always dictated a rich landscape expression, and as part of an ongoing sustainability effort, they sought to maximize the efficiency of the irrigation.

With Hoag’s goal to integrate the health care complex into a unified campus, major walkways were paved with unit pavers and enhanced concrete. A detailed signage program was also carefully coordinated with the landscape and seating areas were created at strategic locations.
