Hainan Island is one of the most beautiful coastal areas in China and is a very popular area for golf and resort hotels. The Loong Gate Resort is located on an equally beautiful site in the interior of the island. As such, the Master Plan and landscape design had to introduce features and amenities equal to those properties located along the coast.

The project’s site includes a dormant and picturesque volcano and natural cold springs with minerals that are said to possess special healing powers. Features of the plan used these elements to create a very special sense of place for the resort.

The project will ultimately include a 1250-room family hotel and 250-room five- star boutique hotel, a retail dining and entertainment district, a unique water park, two residential clusters, and 10 exclusive VIP villas sited along an 18-hole golf course. Special features include a dragon-themed garden and shade structure, located within the remains of one of the old volcanoes found on the site. A Folk Village will feature local arts and crafts, a wedding garden and chapel, and a golf academy.
