WILDSIDE is the junior high ministry at Saddleback Church. Every weekend seventh and eighth grade students from all over south Orange County come to Wildside to connect with other students, have fun, worship together and learn about Jesus in real and relevant ways. In addition to weekend services, Wildside offers mid-week small groups, special events, student leadership programs, and opportunities to serve locally and globally.

As part of the Wildside program, The Refinery was designed to provide a context for the all important social component of working with teens and young adults on the expanding Saddleback campus.

Located adjacent to the main pedestrian spine and the future “Community Green” the facility is a major focal point of the campus. Amenities include beach volleyball courts, a skateboard park, outdoor eating areas and green rooftops. A unique gabion retaining wall system creates a raised pedestrian spine, providing a foundation for the rockwork and waterfalls that serve as the primary landscape feature for the project.
