R/Hdo worked with Universal Studios Hollywood from 2012 through 2016 to complete sixteen different projects that both re-imaged the Upper Lot and expanded facilities for a projected attendance increase with the introduction of the Harry Potter attractions. These improvements ranged in size from completely renovating the Main Gate, expanding restrooms and restaurants to designing new marque signage for the Tram Ride and Lower Lot portals. Our scope included Concept Design through Construction Documents and Field Observation. All of the non-IP improvements were designed in a neutral style to distinguish them from the IP related attractions. The design established a consistent vocabulary of sidewalk and street paving, lighting, wayfinding signage, and architectural style.
